COFFEE IN CENTRAL AFRICA REPUBLIC

Posted by coffee

Central Africa Republic

Used to be part of French Equatorial Africa, still sells most of its coffee to France and Italy as the other main buyer, a very important cash crop for Central Africa Republic. The robusta varieties are the usual canephora and the more interesting Nana robusta, first discovered growing wild on the banks of the Nana river in the extreme western region. The tracheomycosis coffee disease was originated there.
