Robusta, mostly Marchand type are grown in this country that formerly Zaire. The arabica's crops from this country is less than 20 percent, which are grown at a very high altitude in the mountainous plateau regions of Kivu province that are interesting to the specialist coffee trade. The Kivu arabicas are fine, perfect balance of good body and acidity, wet-processed, good bright blue or blue-green color and consistent appearance, and have remarkably few defect. And the Democratic Republic of Congo's Maragogype is an extremely pleasant soft coffee.
